Our staff is comprised of people with a commitment to serve the different populations of individuals with special needs. They are a professional team who provide case management, residential supervision, support services, training and administrative support for the Agency’s programs. There are over 250 full and part time staff members working within our Group Homes, Supportive Living Programs, Supervised Apartment Living Programs, Transitional and Permanent Housing Programs as well as Administrative Support programs. The staff of Alternatives, Inc. strives to enhance the quality of life for our clients with a series of innovative programs that provide Dignity Through Independence.

Recruitment of staff is based on criteria and standards designed to attract employees who are qualified to discharge the Agency's functions effectively. It is the policy of the Agency that applicants to whom a conditional offer of employment has been extended may be required to undergo a medical examination, Mantoux Skin Test and urine drug screen test to establish their fitness to perform the jobs for which they have applied.

It is also the goal of Alternatives, Inc. to ensure the continued safety and integrity of the individuals receiving services, staff and Agency property. Thus, it is established that a criminal history check will be performed on all staff hired to work within the Agency.

In order for the Agency to fulfill it’s mission, which is to provide comprehensive support services to individuals with special needs to enable them to reach their highest level of independence and integration in the community, the Agency utilizes the above mentioned process to employ the appropriate candidates for vacant positions within the our organization.
