Support Specialist (2 positions) - SAL IX

Description
Work in Supervised Apartment Living Program
 
Saturday & Sunday, 9am - 5pm

Saturday & Sunday, 5pm - 11pm
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include: 
- Evaluates skills and needs of each individual receiving services and makes recommendations to Program/Unit Manager
- Assists in planning and implementing IHP/ISP with Program/Unit Manager and Interdisciplinary Team
- Supervises clients in maintenance and upkeep of apartments or home
- Submits reports as required by Program/Unit Manager
- Assists in review and implementation of DHS licensing standards
- Assists in setting up of appointments
- Provides necessary transportation
- Ensure security and confidentiality of all assigned Alternatives, Inc. records
- Follow all policies and procedures relative to this position
- Ensures Alternatives, Inc.s Person-Centered Philosophy
- Develops and implements individualized training program for each individual with Program/Unit Manager and IDT
- Assists in planning and implementing Individual Behavior Plans with Clinical Specialist, Program/ Unit Manager and IDT, when applicable
- Cooperate with Alternatives, Inc. and the N.J. Department of Human Services in all inspections or investigations
- Assists the Program/Unit Manager in training and supervision of staff
- Maintain apartment, staff office and vehicle keys
- Maintains records as assigned by Program/Unit Manager
- Participates in staff meetings as directed by Program/Unit Manager
- Availability to be contacted in emergency situations
- Assists in training of clients in necessary areas
- Performs necessary tasks for individuals
- Assists Program/Unit Manager in maintaining contact with outside agencies providing services to individuals
- Participates as a team member in planning, implementing and evaluating services provided by the Program
- Assists in carrying out recreation events by providing additional transportation and supervision
- Ensure operational effectiveness in emergency situations by providing services at Alternatives, Inc.s program sites as assigned
- Strong interpersonal skills required

Skills Required Experience preferred. Must possess valid NJ/NY/PA driver's license. **In order to be eligible for employment, applicant must have 7 or less points on their driving record and no DUIs within the last 3 years.**
