How We Hire

In order for the Agency to fulfill its mission, which is to provide comprehensive support services to individuals with special needs to enable them to reach their highest level of independence and integration in the community, the Agency utilizes a comprehensive employment  process to onboard  the appropriate candidates for vacant positions within the our organization.

Recruitment of staff is based on criteria and standards designed to attract employees who are qualified to discharge the Agency's functions effectively. It is the policy of the Agency that applicants to whom a conditional offer of employment has been extended may be required to undergo a medical examination, Mantoux Skin Test and urine drug screen test to establish their fitness to perform the jobs for which they have applied.

It is also the goal of Alternatives, Inc. to ensure the continued safety and integrity of the individuals receiving services, staff and Agency property. Thus, it is established that a criminal history check will be performed on all staff hired to work within the Agency. Additionally, motor vehicle records will be verified for acceptable results. In order to be eligible for employment, all candidates must possess a valid NJ/NY/PA driver's license with no DUIs within the last 3 years and no more than 5 points on their driving record.
