Testimonials
"Travis moved from a house to a real home. He’s happy, and he loves his home. They are just like his second family. The staff at Alternatives treat Travis with respect and dignity... And when you’re treated like you are capable of great things, you can achieve great things." - Beverly Albies, Parent
“I’ve been with Alternatives for more than 10 years, and the support I’ve received has been life-changing. After going through divorce, homelessness, and health struggles, Alternatives helped me get back on my medication, secure stable housing, and build a new life. With their encouragement, I graduated Cum Laude from Raritan Valley in pre-Social Work, volunteered in my community, and reconnected with my family. Alternatives staff, Heather and Laura helped me through some of my toughest times, and I truly credit Alternatives with much of my success.” — Mary, Alternatives, Inc. Client
My son, Chigozie, has improved socially since being with your agency. His verbal and social interactions since living with you is so much improved. The staff take very good care of him and his needs. I have no complaints. - Parent
Alternatives made an uncertain time for my daughter and me pleasant. We were so fortunate to have a team that truly cared about my daughter’s development and wanted to get to know her, to help her to be her best. The care of the clients during the pandemic was impressive and appreciated from the bottom of my heart. Again, an uncertain time made bearable by your excellent staff. They helped immensely with virtual visits and sessions, and they went above and beyond to make sure my daughter received her speech therapy. As a guardian, it is hard to leave a loved one in the care of an agency. However, your Director of Services made it easier, with her knowledge and expertise in every area, and her amazing communication skills. She was the glue that held the group home together. -Parent
“At every level, the Alternatives team has shown exceptional professionalism and loving support. Their care of my sister has been thoughtfully specialized to her unique needs and abilities, and they are absolutely committed to helping her reach her highest level of autonomy and happiness.” - Paige Purcell, Sister
"Joe, like his siblings, had the opportunity to go off and live independently. He has friends, he has family, and a home he is proud of. None of that would have been possible, without the support of Alternatives." - Cathy, Sister
